Bulgaria: Inflation comes in at highest level since March 2020 in June
Consumer prices dropped 0.21% in June over the previous month, swinging from the 0.14% rise seen in May. June’s result marked the sharpest fall in prices since September 2020. The result was largely driven by plunging prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Inflation edged up to 2.7% in June, above May’s 2.5%. June’s result represented the highest inflation rate since March 2020. Annual average inflation rose to 1.0% in June (May: 0.9%). Lastly, harmonized inflation rose to 2.4% in June, from May’s 2.3%.
