Bulgaria: Inflation ebbs in July from the prior month
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices increased 4.4% on a year-on-year basis in July, following a 5.2% rise in the previous month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, there were milder price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+1.2% on a year-on-year basis vs +2.3% in June), transportation (+9.4% vs +11.0% in June), housing and utilities (+5.0% vs +5.1% in June), recreation (+5.6% vs +8.6% in June) and restaurants and hotels (+6.7% vs +7.9% in June).
Meanwhile, consumer prices rose 4.5% in July, following a 5.4% increase in the prior month.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.59% in July in month-on-month terms, following a 0.53% decline in the prior month.
