Bulgaria: Decline in industrial output softens in January
Industrial output fell 6.0% compared to the same month of the previous year in January, which was a less pronounced contraction than December’s 7.4% decrease. January’s softer drop was partly due to a softer fall in manufacturing output. Meanwhile, mining production fell at a softer rate.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production fell 2.5% in January (December: +4.0% mom). Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 8.8% in January, down from December’s minus 8.4%.
