Bulgaria: Economic sentiment improves in May
Latest reading: Economic sentiment rose to 95.6 in May, following April’s 94.5. The latest reading was below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
In May, sentiment brightened in the industrial sector (-2.2 vs -2.6 in April) and the services sector (+2.8 vs -1.9 in April). On the flipside, sentiment worsened in the construction sector (-3.4 vs +1.8 in April), the retail sector (+8.5 vs +14.9 in April) and among consumers (-26.3 vs -25.8 in April).
