Brazil: Consumer sentiment turns more pessimistic in September
The seasonally-adjusted consumer confidence index published by the Getulio Vargas Foundation fell to 75.3 in September, following August’s 81.8 reading. As a result, the index remained below the 100-point threshold, indicating pessimism among consumers.
September’s decrease came on the back of consumers’ more pessimistic assessment of current conditions, while their views on the future economic situation also turned bleaker.
