Brazil: Consumer confidence moderates in March
The seasonally-adjusted consumer confidence index published by the Getulio Vargas Foundation came in at 74.8 in March, down from February’s 77.9. As such, the index remained below the 100-point threshold, indicating continued pessimism among consumers.
The fall came on the back of a deterioration in consumers’ assessments of the current economic situation. In addition, consumers’ sentiment regarding the future economic situation weakened.
