Brazil: Consumer confidence improves in May
The seasonally-adjusted consumer confidence index published by the Getulio Vargas Foundation came in at 76.2 in May, up from April’s 72.5. Consequently, the index moved closer to the 100-point threshold, but still indicated pessimism among consumers.
The uptick came on the back of an improvement in consumers’ assessments of both the current as well as the future economic situation.
