Brazil: Consumer confidence worsens in August
Latest reading: The seasonally adjusted consumer confidence index published by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (Fundação Getúlio Vargas) dropped to 84.7 in August, following July’s 88.3. The latest reading was below the threshold of 100 that separates optimistic from pessimistic sentiment and the lowest since November 2022.
In August, households grew less upbeat about the economy in the coming months (+86.1 vs +91.5 in July) and about their current situations (+83.8 vs +84.4).
