Brazil: Business confidence rises into optimistic territory in August
The Getulio Vargas Foundation’s (Fundação Getúlio Vargas) industrial business confidence index came in at 100.3 in August, up from July’s 99.5. As a result, the index broke through the 100-point threshold, pointing to mild optimism among businesses.
The rise came on the back of an improvement in firms’ assessments of the current economic situation. In addition, firms’ sentiment regarding the future economic situation strengthened.
