Belgium: Industrial output records lowest growth in eight months in October
Industrial output increased 10.8% year-on-year in calendar-adjusted terms in October (September: +18.1% c.a. yoy). The result marked the slowest reading since February, but still marked robust growth. October’s weakening was largely due to a more moderate growth in manufacturing production, coupled with a sharper contraction in energy output.
On a monthly basis, industrial production increased 0.1% in seasonally-adjusted terms in October, which was below September’s 0.6% expansion. Meanwhile, the trend improved, with the annual average growth of industrial production coming in at plus 14.5%, up from September’s 14.0% reading.
