Belarus: Inflation rises in January
Consumer prices increased 0.9% over the previous month in January, a tad above December’s 0.8% print. The result reflected higher prices in all sub-components. In addition, core prices—which exclude volatile sub-components such as food an energy—rose 0.7% month-on-month in January, up from the 0.3% logged a month prior.
Inflation crept up to 5.8% in January (December: 5.6%), lingering above the on the Central Bank’s 5.0% target.. Meanwhile, annual average inflation came in at 5.0%, edging up from December’s 4.9% reading.
