Belarus: Inflation jumps in December
Consumer prices increased 0.8% over the previous month in December, up slightly from November’s 0.6% print. The result reflected higher prices for food and services. In addition, core prices—which exclude volatile components—rose 0.3% month-on-month in December, although slightly down from the 0.4% logged a month prior.
Inflation jumped to 5.6% in December (November: 5.0%). Meanwhile, annual average inflation came in at 4.9%, marginally increasing from November’s 4.8% reading.
