Belarus: Inflation eases in October
Consumer prices rose 0.5% over the previous month in October, down slightly from September’s 0.8% increase. October’s result reflected higher prices for food and non-food goods, which more than offset lower prices for services. In a similar fashion, core prices—which exclude volatile components—also rose 0.5% month-on-month in October, up from the 0.8% increase in the previous month.
Inflation fell from a 14-month high of 5.6% in September to 4.9% in October. Meanwhile, annual average inflation ticked up to 4.8% in October (September: 4.7%).
