Austria: Industrial output contracts in August
Industrial output decreased 0.6% on a month-on-month in seasonally-adjusted terms in August, swinging from July’s 5.0% increase. August’s reading was due to contractions in capital goods, non-durable consumer goods and energy output
On an annual basis, industrial production fell 3.3% in August, easing from July’s 3.7% fall and marking the best result since February. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 5.6%, down from July’s minus 5.3% reading.
