Austria: Economic sentiment increases in August
Latest reading: Economic sentiment increased to 93.8 in August, following July’s 92.9. The latest reading was below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy and the highest since January 2026.
In August, sentiment brightened in the industrial sector (-8.7 vs -9.4 in July), the construction sector (-13.3 vs -15.6 in July), the retail sector (-6.4 vs -7.1 in July) and among consumers (-18.2 vs -19.2 in July). On the flipside, sentiment darkened in the services sector (+1.8 vs +3.0 in July).
