Australia: Unemployment rate rises in October
Seasonally-adjusted employment rose by 55,000 in October, following 7,800 jobs added in September. October’s result was driven by an increase in both part-time and full-time employment.
The seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate rose to 3.7% in October from September’s 3.6%. Meanwhile, the seasonally-adjusted underemployment was stable at September’s 6.3% in October, while the participation rate rose to 67.0% from September’s 66.8%.
