Australia: Retail sales growth slows in June

Nominal retail sales rose 2.7% month-on-month in seasonally-adjusted terms in June, down from May’s 16.9% surge. June’s rise was broad-based, with all categories registering growth except department stores, and household goods retailing.

In annual terms, retail sales jumped 8.6% in June, up from May’s 5.5% increase. Meanwhile, annual average growth in retail sales rose from 2.6% in May to 3.2% in June.
