Argentina: Pace of decline in economic activity sharpens in February
On an annual basis, economic activity fell 2.6% in February (January: -2.2% yoy). A downturn in the fishing sector as well as sharper declines in the mining and utilities sectors more than offset stronger expansions in the construction and trade sectors.
On a monthly basis, economic activity contracted 1.0% in February, contrasting January’s 1.9% expansion. Meanwhile, the trend was stable, with the annual average variation of economic activity coming in at minus 9.6%, matching January’s reading.
