Argentina: Economic activity growth softens in September

The monthly indicator for economic activity (EMAE) grew 11.6% year-on-year in September (August: +12.8% yoy). The most pronounced increases were recorded in the transport, restaurants and hotels and construction sectors.

On a monthly basis, economic activity rose 1.4% in September, following August’s 1.4% increase. Meanwhile, the trend improved notably, with the annual average growth in economic activity coming in at 7.3%, following August's 5.8%.

FocusEconomics analysts see the economy growing 2.2% in 2022, unchanged from the previous month’s forecast. In 2023, analysts see GDP expanding 2.3%.
