Argentina: Consumer confidence at over two-year low in June
The Universidad Torcuato di Tella (UTDT) consumer confidence index dropped to 34.6 in June from 35.4 in May, marking the worst reading since April 2019. Therefore, the index moved further below the 50-threshold th0at separates optimism from pessimism among consumers.
Consumers were somewhat more downbeat over their future financial situation and households’ willingness to purchase big ticket items also weakened. On the flip side, they grew slightly less pessimistic over the general economic conditions in the year ahead.
