Argentina: Consumer confidence rises in June
The Universidad Torcuato di Tella (UTDT) consumer confidence index increased to 39.1 in June from 36.3 in May. However, the index remained entrenched below the 50-threshold that separates optimism from pessimism among consumers.
Consumers’ willingness to purchase big ticket items strengthened. Moreover, they grew less pessimistic over their future financial situation and their expectations over the general economic conditions in the year ahead improved.
