Angola: Inflation increases in December
Inflation came in at 20.0% in December, up from November’s 18.2%. December’s result represented the highest inflation rate since July 2022. Inflation has been increasing since Q2 2023 due to a weaker kwanza in year on year terms and the removal of fuel subsidies in early June.
Annual average inflation rose to 13.6% in December (November: 13.1%).
Lastly, consumer prices increased 2.42% from the previous month in December, picking up from the 2.21% increase logged in November. December’s result marked the highest reading since September 2018.
