Uruguay: Inflation falls to five-month low in August
Consumer prices rose 0.57% over the previous month in August, picking up from July’s 0.55% increase. The acceleration was largely broad-based, with greater price pressures recorded for food and non-alcoholic beverages, housing, and healthcare.
Inflation edged down to 9.8% in August, from July’s 10.1%, marking the lowest reading since March. Meanwhile, the trend pointed up mildly, with annual average inflation coming in at 9.3% in August (July: 9.1%).
