United Kingdom: Retail sales contract in July
Latest reading: Retail sales were down 0.5% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis in July, following a 0.7% rise in the previous month. July’s figure was in line with market expectations and marked the first fall since April, as non-food stores and non-store retailers sales declined.
In annual terms, retail sales increased 1.7% in July, following 3.8% growth in the previous month.
