Turkey: Economic sentiment rises in March
Economic sentiment came in at 96.4 in March, up from February’s 95.7. That said, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected stronger sentiment in the industrial and service sectors and weaker sentiment in the construction and retail sectors. Lastly, consumer confidence remained unchanged in March.
Referring to indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations deteriorated, while the economic uncertainty index fell in March.
