Turkey: Consumer confidence falls to record in December
Consumer confidence came in at 68.9 in December, down from November’s 71.1. December’s result marked the worst performance on record. As a result, the index remained entrenched below the 100-threshold, signaling that consumers were pessimistic.
The headline print largely reflected a deterioration in sentiment in the labor market outlook. In addition, sentiment towards consumers’ future financial situation sector soured.
