Turkey Consumer Confidence July 2020

Turkey: Consumer confidence deteriorates in July

July 23, 2020

Consumer confidence fell to 60.9 in July from June's 62.6. Consequently, the index remained below the 100-threshold, and indicated pessimism among consumers.

The fall came on the back of a deterioration in consumers’ assessments of the general economic climate. In addition, sentiment regarding the labor market outlook also weakened.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists see private consumption falling 2.4% in 2020, which is up 0.2 percentage points from last month’s forecast, before increasing 5.4% in 2021.
