Taiwan: Inflation declines to lowest level since August in December
Inflation dropped to 2.7% in December, which followed November’s 2.9%. December’s figure marked the weakest inflation rate since August. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food rose at a softer pace in December while the change in prices for housing was largely in line with the previous month’s reading.
The trend was unchanged, with annual average inflation coming in at November’s 2.5% in December.
Lastly, consumer prices fell 0.04% from the previous month in December, a less pronounced decrease than the 0.28% drop seen in November.
