Taiwan: Inflation comes in at highest level since January in October
Inflation came in at 3.0% in October, which was up from September’s 2.9%. October’s figure marked the highest inflation rate since January. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food rose at a faster pace in October, linked to recent typhoon rains, while the rise in prices for services was robust due to strong demand.
Annual average inflation remained at September’s 2.4% in October.
Lastly, consumer prices increased 0.38% in October over the previous month, which was below September’s 0.62% increase. October’s result marked the weakest reading since July.
