Switzerland: Inflation comes in at highest level since October 2008 in January
Consumer prices increased 0.17% from the previous month in January, swinging from the 0.10% fall logged in December. The result was driven by rising prices for housing and energy and transportation.
Inflation edged up to 1.6% in January from December’s 1.5%. January’s figure represented the highest inflation rate since October 2008. Annual average inflation rose to 0.8% in January (December: 0.6%).
