Spain: Retail sales growth improves in July
Retail sales grew 7.7% compared to the same month of the previous year in July, which was above June’s 6.9% increase. The acceleration was largely driven by an improvement in large chain stores sales. In addition, single retail stores sales picked up pace.
On a monthly basis, retail sales increased 0.2% in seasonally adjusted terms in July, which was below June’s 0.3% expansion and marking the worst result since February. Meanwhile, the trend improved sizably, with the annual average growth of retail sales coming in at 4.4%, up from June’s 3.4%.
