Spain: Industrial output growth moderates in December
Industrial output increased 1.3% year-on-year in seasonally- and calendar-adjusted terms in December (November: +4.6%). The notable slowdown was largely due to a deterioration in consumer goods production growth. In addition, capital goods output fell.
On a monthly basis, industrial output fell 2.6% in seasonally-adjusted terms in December, contrasting November’s 3.9% expansion and marking the worst result since April 2020. Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth rose to 7.2% in December (November: +7.0%).
