Slovenia: Economic sentiment hits highest reading since December 2022 in January
Economic sentiment rose to 96.6 in January from December’s 96.2. January’s result marked the best reading since December 2022. As a result, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
Sentiment in the retail sector improved in the surveyed month. However, sentiment in the industrial, construction and services sectors weakened. Finally, consumer confidence was up in January.
Relating to indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations deteriorated, while the economic uncertainty index decreased in January.
