Slovakia: Inflation hits three-month high in March
Consumer prices rose 0.50% from the previous month in March, accelerating from the 0.30% increase seen in February. March’s result was the sharpest increase in prices since January 2020. Looking at the details of the release, transportation prices rose at a quicker pace in March compared to the previous month, while price pressures for clothing and footwear also increased.
Inflation came in at 1.4% in March, above February’s 0.9%, marking the highest reading since December 2020. Meanwhile, the trend was unchanged with annual average inflation coming in at February’s 1.6% in March. Lastly, harmonized inflation rose to 1.5% from February’s 0.9%.
