Slovakia: Inflation stable in February

March 13, 2020

Consumer prices increased 0.1% in February from the previous month, following January’s 1.2% rise. The lower reading largely reflected cheaper transport, and clothing and footwear.

Inflation clocked 3.0% in February, matching January’s reading, while annual average inflation ticked up to 2.6% from 2.5% in the previous month. Meanwhile, harmonized inflation held steady at 3.2% in January, the latest month for which data is available.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect inflation to average 2.3% in 2020, which is unchanged from last month’s estimate, and 2.1% in 2021.
