Slovakia: Inflation falls for fifth consecutive month in July
Consumer prices edged up 0.10% over the last month in July, bouncing back from June’s 0.10% drop. July’s increase reflected greater price pressures for transport, restaurants and hotels and recreation and culture, outweighing falling prices in divisions of food and non-alcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverages and tobacco and clothing and footwear.
Inflation dipped for the fifth month running in July to 1.7%, from June’s 1.8%. Meanwhile, the trend remained stable, with the annual average inflation coming in at June’s 2.5% in July. Finally, harmonized inflation was also unchanged at last month’s 1.8% in July.
