Slovakia: Industrial output growth eases to 10-month low in January
Industrial output expanded 3.5% year on year in January (December: +4.9% yoy). Looking at the details of the release, manufacturing activity grew at a softer pace. Additionally, mining output plunged in January, which more than offset the sharpest increase in energy supply production in over two years. Still, the trend improved, with the annual average growth of industrial production coming in at 2.6%, up from December’s 1.8% reading.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, factory output slid 2.8% in January, contrasting December’s upwardly revised 4.1% increase.
