Romania: Inflation drops to four-month low in September
Consumer prices dropped a seasonally-adjusted 0.14% in September over the previous month, following the 0.05% drop recorded in August. September’s result marked the sharpest fall in prices since July 2019. The figure was primarily driven by falling prices for food and non-food goods.
Inflation came in at 2.5% in September, edging down from August’s 2.7% and marking the lowest reading since May. Accordingly, annual average inflation dropped to 3.0% in September (August: 3.1%).
