Romania: Industrial output contracts for a third consecutive month in September
Industrial production slid 1.2% on an annual basis in September, following August’s revised 6.7% fall, which had marked the worst result since May 2009. September’s improvement reflected softer contractions in all three sub-components of the index: manufacturing, mining and utilities supply.
The annual average variation in industrial output, meanwhile, edged down to minus 0.7% in September (August: +0.3%).
On a seasonally- and working day-adjusted basis, industrial output rose 1.9% month-on-month in September (August: +0.5% month-on-month s.a.).
