Qatar: Inflation is stable in June
Latest reading: Consumer prices were up 2.2% on a year-on-year basis in June, unchanged from the prior month’s reading.
Relative to the previous month’s data, there were higher price pressures for food (+12.7% in annual terms vs +11.7% in May) and transport (-0.9% vs -3.0% in May). In contrast, there were milder price pressures for clothing (+5.0% vs +5.5% in May) and recreation and culture (-7.0% vs -5.7% in May). Finally, the change in housing prices was the same as in the prior month (+2.7% in June and May).
Finally, consumer prices rose 0.06% in June in month-on-month terms, following a 0.51% decline in the prior month.
