Portugal: Economic sentiment improves in July
Latest reading: Economic sentiment increased to 103.0 in July, following June’s 102.9. The latest reading was above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
In July, sentiment brightened in the industrial sector (-4.2 vs -4.3 in June), the construction sector (+4.7 vs +2.8 in June) and among consumers (-19.5 vs -21.9 in June). In contrast, sentiment worsened in the services sector (+7.5 vs +9.3 in June) and the retail sector (+6.7 vs +7.5 in June).
