Poland Retail November 2018

Poland: Retail sales cool in November

December 21, 2018

Nominal retail sales rose 8.2% from the same month a year earlier in November, down from October’s 9.7% year-on-year expansion. November’s slowdown was driven partly by a contraction in automobile sales, which have been volatile since the recent introduction of new emissions-testing procedures.

Meanwhile, annual average growth in nominal retail sales ticked up to 8.1% from 8.0% a month earlier.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists see private consumption growing 4.1% in 2019, which is down 0.1 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2020, the panel sees private consumption expanding 3.4%.
