Poland: Industrial output growth accelerates in August

Industrial production expanded 13.2% year-on-year in August, increasing from July’s 9.5% reading. Looking at the details of the release, mining and quarrying output returned to growth in August, and manufacturing output also gathered steam.

On a monthly basis, industrial output decreased 0.3% in seasonally-adjusted terms in August, contrasting July’s 0.4% expansion. Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth rose to 13.3% in August (July: +12.3%). This signals an improving trend in the industrial sector.
