Poland: Industrial output downshifts through year-end

According to the Central Statistical Office (GUS), industrial output grew 2.8% from a year earlier in December, down from November’s 4.7% reading on tepid gains in manufacturing output. Mining and quarrying output, meanwhile, contracted significantly.

All told, annual average growth in industrial output came in at 5.8% in 2018.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial output to grow 4.8% in 2019, which is down 0.1 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2020, the panel sees industrial output growing 4.5%.
