Panama: Inflation falls to lowest level since July in December
Inflation came in at 1.9% in December, which was down from November’s 2.0%. December’s figure represented the weakest inflation rate since July. Looking at the details of the release, price growth for food and transport eased, while housing and energy prices rose at a quicker pace in December compared to the previous month.
The trend was unchanged, with annual average inflation coming in at November’s 1.5% in December.
Finally, consumer prices increased 0.08% in December over the previous month, accelerating from November’s 0.05% rise.
