Netherlands Business Confidence August 2019

Netherlands: Business sentiment stable in August

August 29, 2019

Manufacturing confidence was steady in August, with the sentiment index resting at July’s 3.9. The index lies above the neutral zero-point mark separating optimism from pessimism as well as above the long-term average of 1.0 over the past 20 years.

The unchanged reading came on the back of manufacturers’ more positive assessments regarding future output being balanced out by less positive expectations regarding new orders and stocks of finished products.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists see fixed investment growing 4.4% in 2019, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. For 2020, the panel expects fixed investment to expand 1.7%.
