Mexico: Economic activity falls in February
The monthly indicator for economic activity (IGAE) slid 0.2% in seasonally-adjusted, month-on-month terms in February, after flatlining in January.
February’s print reflected a sharp contraction of the primary sector and a modest decline in industrial-sector activity outweighing a slight expansion of the services sector.
On a year-on-year basis, economic activity dipped 0.6% in February, following the 0.8% fall logged in January. Lastly, the annual average variation in economic activity edged down to minus 0.4% from minus 0.3% in from the previous month.
