Mexico: Consumer confidence decreases in August
Consumer confidence came in at 40.9 in August, down from July’s 41.4. August’s result marked the weakest sentiment since March 2021. As a result, the index remained entrenched below the 50-point threshold, signaling that consumers were pessimistic.
The fall came on the back of a deterioration in consumers’ assessments of the future general economic situation, and current economic conditions. In contrast, consumers’ views of their future personal financial situation strengthened.
