Malaysia: Industrial activity dips in June
Industrial output declined 2.2% in year-on-year terms in June, which contrasted May’s 4.8% increase. June’s notable deterioration largely reflected drops in manufacturing, and mining and quarrying production.
On a monthly basis, industrial production dropped 1.7% in seasonally adjusted terms in June, contrasting May’s 7.3% expansion. Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth fell to 4.6% in June (May: +5.8%), which marked a one-year low.
