Luxembourg: Retail sales growth wanes in August
Retail sales expanded 4.6% in year-on-year terms in August, which was a deterioration from July’s 7.8% increase. Sales of food, beverages and tobacco slipped into contraction, as did sales of IT equipment in specialized stores. That said, growth of sales of other goods increased.
Meanwhile, the trend improved modestly, with the annual average growth of retail sales coming in at an over one-year high of 4.6%, up from July’s 4.4%.
